The problem of the importance of science has always aroused heated debates. Some people are convinced that science is a key thing to be financed in the modern world. However, the others believe that there are more significant areas to be sponsored. In my essay I am going to express my personal opinion on the matter, debate with my opponents and draw the balanced conclusion.

In my opinion, science is definitely the crucial area to be financed. First of all, a lot of scientific developments are helpful because they simplify people's lives and save precious time. Secondly, putting money into science, namely medicine, helps to develop new medicaments and cures, with the help of which one can increase the lifespan and the living standards.

However, not all people share my opinion. They suppose that art must be the top thing to be funded in modern life because it causes more benefit in the society progress than science as it is educative.

Nevertheless, I disagree with this point of view. The point is that the role of art cannot be compared with the importance of science because our environment would rather be destroyed without modern scientific researches than without pieces of art. Besides, art cannot improve without the help of science in modernity.

In conclusion, summarizing all the points mentioned above, I strongly believe that science should be the priority area to be financed in the contemporary world because it is the matter of vital importance for every industry and individual.
