It would be better to have only one language on planet (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Nowadays the problem of learning foreign languages is highly debatable. Some people claim that it requires much effort and people should have one universal language to communicate, while others consider a wide variety of languages as an interesting and even useful phenomenon.

Personally, I hold the opinion that different languages are useful in the modern world. To begin with, each language has its own grammar structure and vocabulary, and it provides diversity among people. Additionally, it is sometimes helpful to speak the language no one knows in public to keep some secrets unrevealed and save important information.

Besides, learning foreign languages can improve one’s memory and develop intellect if one is unable to do math or physics. Thus, that would be impossible if only one language existed.

However, the supporters of another point of view are assured that one language is enough for easy communication.

Firstly, they suppose one universal language can make it easier for people to communicate and express their thoughts in an understandable way for the others. Secondly, it can be possible to read books or watch films in their original language without putting much effort into it.

Nevertheless, I cannot agree with these arguments as they lack sufficient ground. Actually, speaking one language can make the communication very boring as it may be impossible to demonstrate one’s individuality through it. Likewise, books or movies only in their original language can capture the atmosphere of it and express the writer's feelings.

In conclusion, I want to state that the diversity of languages people have is astonishing. Consequently, they do not need one universal language.
