Having a hobby can greatly enrich a child's life. It has been debated about encouragement children to take up hobbies. Some people believe that it is necessary to promote children's interests while others claim that they should choose themselves.

In my opinion, it is vital to encourage children to take up hobbies. Firstly, children may not be aware of the variety of useful activities. Parents or teachers should show them what they can do. Secondly, children can start doing bad things because they have nothing to do and are bored. So, it is necessary to recognize and develop that interest for your teen.

Nonetheless, some people consider that nobody should interfere with a child's choice of hobbies.

They believe that children should independently choose what they want to do. Moreover, if they do not want to do anything, no one can not oblige them, because it will only destroy their interest.

Personally, I cannot agree with my opponents. I am sure that children cannot always choose what they would like to do, so they need help from adults. In addition, children may start doing something harmful due to lack of activity. They should be interested in something because hobbies contribute to their physical and moral development.

To sum up, in my view, encouragement children to take up hobbies is vital because it can increase physical activity and social interaction, provide stress relief, teach valuable skills and be a source of fun.
