There is no doubt that science is one of the most important fieldS of human activity. Some people believe that science needs more funding thaN anything else. On the other hand, there are people who believe that other things need to be financed in the modern world more than science.

In my opinion, science is the first thing to be financed in the modern world. Firstly, thanks to science we can deal with a range of global problems from air pollution to HIV infection and AIDS. Scientists from all over the world try to find ways of fighting withTHE modern world’s dangers. Secondly, science makes people’s life easier in terms of everyday routine. For example, fertilizers that help grow food faster and keep it in THE fridge longer are the result of scientific research and development.

However, there are people who believe that science is not the first thing to be financed in the modern world.

They think that health care is much more important than science and needs more funding.

I cannot agree with my opponent’s statement, because in my view it is much more effective to fight the reasons of illnesses, not the consequences and to prevent them, which is the function of science.

To sum up, I am absolutely sure that science needs funding more than anything else in the modern world, because it helps people deal with global problems and makes people’s life easier.
