The role of fashion in my life (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

First of all, I cannot say that fashion plays an important part in my life. Of course, if I see a person in the street who is wearing beautiful fashionable clothes, I cannot help admiring that person's taste for a moment. But it is nothing more than a passing impression, and a couple of minutes later I will probably forget that person.

As for me, I prefer comfortable clothes, and what matters most to me is their convenience and functionality. I stick to a healthy lifestyle and always go to school on foot. As I live a long way from my school, it usually takes me about an hour to get there. So, it is important for me to feel comfortable during such long walks whatever the weather and time of year. It would be a torture for me to have to put up with clothes that are popular and fashionable but unable to keep me warm, protect me from the rain, mud and other things of that kind.

Moreover, fashionable clothes are usually very expensive.

My parents do not earn a lot of money, and even if I were a big fan of brands, I would not be able to buy them or at least to buy them often enough to maintain a special image of myself.

To put it simply, I prefer casual clothes that are cheap, easy to use and suitable for a wide range of different occasions. Unfortunately, sometimes there are situations when I have to put on what I do not like. For example, when I visited my cousin's wedding last year, I was asked to dress up in an elegant fashionable way. As a result, I had to go to a clothes shop and spend almost all of my pocket money that I had been collecting for more than a year. Although the clothes I bought were rather good, I see no way how to use them in my everyday life. To tell the truth, I have not put them on since the day of the wedding. So, to me, it was just a waste of money. If I had not gone to that shop, I would have saved both money and time. I do not think I would have looked worse without those costly things on.

In conclusion, I want to say that I am not a fashion person at all. To me clothes are not a way to express myself, but just what makes me feel comfortable and protected.
