I was very glad to get your letter. I should have written earlier, but I have been busy at school.

Lately, I have watched Titanic. It is a well-known film, which impressed me most by it’s love story. I was overwhelmed by tragedy and the way that love is shown hear. It is amazing that a person could do a self-sacrifice for his lover. I would like to play a role of Rosa, because I think that her character suits me well.

How well do you prepared for your chess tournament? How long have you leaned to play chess? Do you have your strategy of playing it? Unfortunately, I have to go now.

«A person who is fluent in a foreign language can easily work as an interpreter»

Nowadays, there are a lot of people who know second language or more. But it does not seem to me that everyone who speakers it fluently could be an interpreter.

Firstly, working as an interpreter is not easy. Knowing a language sometimes is not enough, because, for example, a simultaneous interpreter should also have a very good reaction and a good vocabulary on both languages. Secondly, in Russia there are way too many specialists in humanities and languages, who make a serious competition.

On the other hand, some people believe that everyone who has a high level of both languages can be an interpreter. They suppose that nowadays practically each profession is connected with foreign language, if even it requires knowledge of foreign language, than high level of it is a straight way to work as an interpreter.

I cannot agree with these people. There are a lot of specialists and very few amount of them are working as a professional interpreter. It is a tough work with is more than just giant vocabulary.

To sum up, I would like to point out that having a high level of any language does not mean that it is good enough to be an interpreter. Even less of people could make a career and become professionals.
