Nowadays the notion of gap year is heard often. Some people think that future students should take a year off before going to university. However, others believe that it is necessary for school leavers to enter a university immediately after school graduation.
In my opinion, future students should take a gap year before entering university. Firstly, having a rest from studying provides much time for self-development. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, get various jobs and read books from different spheres, for example, psychology, management or law. Such experience makes a person broad-minded and mature that is necessary to make a deliberate decision of career. Secondly, taking a year off provides a chance to save up a sum of money for entering a university. School leavers can get a part-time or full-time job and put aside earnings to pay for education and accommodation later.
However, some people think differently. Their suggestion is that future students should not take a gap year because if they try a carefree life, they might become lazy and get away with the idea of studying at university. This result of a gap year closes a door to successful future though getting education.
Nevertheless, a year off provides young people an opportunity to have fun before intense studying. It is essential because if school leavers are not given a chance to have a rest before hardworking, they will often distract on parties that will cause declining of studying progress.
To sum up, I am sure that future students should take a gap year before entering a university. It is a useful opportunity that helps them to get ready for studying.
