Nowadays, the problem of taking a gap year before entering university by school livers causes a great discussion and controversy. Some people consider that teenagers should take a free year from education before entering university while others are convinced that ex-pupils should go to university directly after finishing school.

In my opinion, students need to have this free year. Firstly, teenagers feel really exhausted after passing their tough exams. Therefore, during this year they can travel around the world and learn various information about different countries, spend their time with friends or family or they can do nothing but just stay at home. Secondly, a gap year gives a great opportunity for ex-pupils to start their self-education. Thirdly, school students can earn some money for their following studying at university.

However, there are people who have the opposite opinion.

They believe that school livers will lose their essential school knowledge during a gap year and will start studying from scratch.

Despite my respect for their opinion mention above, I cannot share it. I think that during a year free from education teenagers can read books, find online or paper learning sources, get new experience, working as a part-time employee. As a result, all these things will help them to keep their knowledge, learn something useful and be better prepared for university.

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are two different opinions on this problem. I am inclined to believe that ex-pupils should take this year before going to university.
