Every person has a homeland, for me it is Russia. I was born and raised here, and my friends, family and friends live here.

I was born and live in the largest country on the planet Earth.

Russia ranks first in the world in terms of territory. Many different nationalities live here. Residents of Russia call themselves Russians. Russians are a very friendly and kind people who are famous for their hospitality.

The history of Russia begins in the 9th century BC. Previously, my homeland had many names-Kievan Rus, Moscow Principality, Moscow Kingdom, Russian Empire and the USSR – the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It has always included many regions, each with its own people, culture and customs. Everyone lived together as one big family.

Now my homeland is called the Russian Federation.

We have the most beautiful nature: endless fields, forests, flowing rivers, deep lakes and high mountains. Indescribable beauty surrounds every citizen of our country.

The capital of Russia is Moscow, the largest city in Russia by population. A hero city with a rich history. Notable for tourists here will be such monuments as Red square, the Moscow Kremlin, the mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin.

There are a lot of attractions in Russia. One of them is lake Baikal, the deepest lake on the planet, the largest natural vessel with fresh water. Baikal is located in the South of Eastern Siberia, on the border of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia. The flora and fauna of this area is unique and diverse. There are many animals that are unique to lake Baikal. The underwater world of the lake is rich and unique. The lake is home to a large number of rare fish and microorganisms. The water in lake Baikal is crystal clear, and the air in these parts is fresh. Recreation on the lake is popular in many countries of the world, tourists from all over the world come here to touch the incredible beauty and uniqueness of this corner of our homeland.

The valley of geysers in Kamchatka is also famous.

Often foreign travelers who are interested in what to visit in Russia, decide to go to the Solovetsky archipelago, located in the White sea and consisting of 6 large and small Islands. The famous medieval Solovki monastery is located here.

Russia is famous for its talents. Famous scientists, writers, artists, and musicians have made a huge contribution to the development of culture, science, and art in our country. Their names: Pushkin, Gogol, Tolstoy, Lermontov, Chekhov, Akhmatova, Aivazovsky, Serov, Tchaikovsky, Korolev, Tsiolkovsky, etc.
