1) The capital of Russia is Moscow. That is a very large city with millions of people living in it.

2) There are many other important and interesting cities and towns in Russia: Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Murmansk, Vladivostok, Severodvinsk and so on.

3) Russia is a very large country. It is the largest country in the world.

4) In Russia there are a lot of mountains. For example, there are the Ural Mountains that divide Europe from Siberia and the Caucasus Mountains that lie in the south of the country.

5) We also have a lot of seas and oceans. For example, in the north there is the Arctic Ocean, and in the east there is the Pacific Ocean; in the north there is the White Sea, and in the south there is the Black Sea.

6) In Russia there are many lakes.

For example, very rich in lakes is Karelia – it has more than fifty thousand lakes. People often call Karelia «the land of lakes». But the most famous lake in Russia and in the world is Lake Baikal. It is the deepest lake in the world and it has a lot of fresh water.

7) Our country is very rich in forests. They extend from the north to the south and from the west to the east. Our forests are very beautiful. There are a lot of unusual plants in our forests.

8) Russian forests are home to many animals. There are big animals and small animals: bears, elks, deer, reindeer, foxes, hares, snakes, frogs, birds and so on.

9) I think that Russian people are very good people. They are kind, friendly and always ready to help. Sometimes they can be lazy but it does not mean they are bad people.

10) On the territory of our country there live many different peoples. It is always very interesting to travel to other parts of the country because you can see other cultures there.

11) Russian people are proud of many things. For example, they are proud of their big powerful country, their beautiful nature, rich forests and unusual animals. Russian people are also very proud of their veterans who won the Great Patriotic War.
