It is generally agreed that a hobby is something you enjoy doing for fun in your spare time. Hobbies can enhance a person's well-being and fill our life with sense, vivid impressions and bright emotions. However, there are some people who believe that it is not necessary to have a hobby. Let us examine each of these points of view in details.

The first thing to be said is that lots of people enjoy hobbies which differ from person to person: reading, music, scrap-working, sports, decorating and so on. But why it is so important to have a hobby? First of all, a hobby helps us relax when we are tired or feel stressed. Secondly, it is the right way to get to know yourself and develop your personality. Thirdly, hobbies can help you meet new people, who have the same things enjoyable that you do.

On the other hand, there are people who think that hobbies are a waste of time.

"I have no time for hobbies" statement has recently became common. Other people claim that it is better to focus on their work and their professional skills development than hobbies.

In my opinion, people just find excuses for themselves to explain why they have no hobby. Moreover, it is more than possible to turn your hobby into a successful career.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that it is up to your decide whether to have a hobby or not. But my personal view is that hobbies can give us lots of positive feelings, pleasure, energy and happiness. Besides, people can turn their passion into a gainful occupation and make money of it.
