School uniform is useless (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Nowadays, there are two opposing opinions about school uniform. Some claim that this kind of clothes is useful, whereas others think that it is not worth wearing.

To my opinion, school uniform is not useless for a number of reasons. Firstly, a uniform can be vital in creating a sense of school identity and community. Moreover, it is often a source of collective pride for students. Secondly, a school uniform can improve learning by making the classroom environment more serious, allowing students to perform better academically. Therefore, these clothes help students to concentrate, because they remind them that they are at school to learn. Thirdly, uniform means students don’t have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes.

Potential bullies have one less target for their insults.

However, there are those who argue that school uniform has more drawbacks. Some kinds of costumes do not suit everyone, because of it a person feels uncomfortable. Hence, it can cause negative attitude to the studying process and to school, too.

Nevertheless, I tend to disagree with this point of view. Russian schools do not have strict requirements for types of school uniform, so each person can find a style, which suits them best.

To sum up, despite the opinion that school uniform is not necessary, I am strongly convinced that it plays a valuable role, instilling pride, supporting discipline and protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way.
