“It's important for high school students to study compulsory subjects, even if they don't see any need for them in the near future” (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

There is no doubt that education has become an indispensable part of modern life. Many people think that studying compulsory subjects is necessary for high school students, whereas others disagree with this point of view.

In my opinion, compulsory subjects have a beneficial effect on the children’s life. Firstly, they prepare students for a good future in the real world because kids become more disciplined and learn how to allocate time correctly. Secondly, mandatory subjects give them an opportunity to broaden mind and know more about the world. Hence, it is useful for their development. Finally, it is easier for students to make a choice if they do not know what they will do in the future.

However, there are those who think that students do not benefit from studying compulsory subjects.

According to their opinion, concentrating on vocational ones helps them to acquire knowledge which will be valuable for their work. Therefore, it is a waste of time and energy for pupils. Additionally, a great amount of homework on needless subjects does not have enough time for learning necessary information properly.

Despite this, I cannot agree with these statements. Today compulsory subjects play an important role in students’ life because they can provide a wide knowledge base for being successful in future. What is more, if pupil sets priorities correctly, he will devote attention to all lessons.

In conclusion, even though there are different points of view on this problem, I am inclined to believe that studying compulsory subjects affects children’s development in a positive way.
