The issue of using a computer while studying has always aroused intense debate. Some people believe that a computer helps pupils to study more efficiently, while others claim that they can do without it.

In my opinion, a computer nowadays plays an essential role in children’s education, and the reasons for this are as follows. Firstly, the computer enables students to study more productively. For example, it takes only a few minutes to find the information they need using a computer. Secondly, with the help of it they can improve their knowledge absolutely free. Pupils can read books, watch documentaries and scientific films and learn new languages, and they do not even have to pay for it.

However, some people think otherwise.

The opponents of the above view are convinced that the computer detracts children from studying. They cannot concentrate on their lessons as there are a large number of computer games and videos.

I am afraid I cannot agree with the above argument. I believe that if somebody wants to study, he will be able to resist the temptation of games. Moreover, there are special programmes that can block unnecessary websites. Thus, a student can use them to balance leisure and studies

To sum up, I am firmly convinced that a computer is an indispensable educational tool irrespective of the opposing opinion. It can have a beneficial effect on pupils’ studying process as it enables to find any information they need without wasting their time.
