Do you think English should be simplified and made easier to learn? (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

Nowadays, there are many various opinions about simplified English, which will be easier to learn. Some people believe that English shouldn’t be changed while others think that this is necessary. Both sides have their reasons.

My personal view is that English must be simplified to the minimum at which people could communicate. To begin with, an easy version of English doesn’t take a lot of time and effort to study it. For example, many words with lots of different meanings are absolutely useless and incredibly difficult for all foreigners. Their study is a waste of time. Secondly, this will help better to understand each other. In this case, it will remove language barriers. Thirdly, simplified English can help us to strengthen relationships between the countries.

However, there exists another point of view on this issue.

First of all, those who support it claim that English has its special history and unique culture, which the native speakers want to keep. Besides, my opponents point out that this language isn’t as difficult to learn as some other languages so it doesn’t need simplification.

Despite my respect for this opinion, I cannot share it because peculiarities of the English language will remain in the books, movies and will be passed on from generation to generation. Although English is easier for many languages, but to study it takes several years of hard work.

In conclusion, minimizing English grammar and lexics to use the language internationally would make it available to billions of foreigners who would study it faster and communicate in it easier. I understand some people’s fear to lose English cultural heritage but it’s a small price for such global improvement.
