Popular career choices among teenagers in Zetland (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

The importance of making the right career choice early in life is hard to underestimate.

Working on my school project titled “Popular Career Choices Among Teenagers in Zetland”, I have collected some statistics data on the subject and now I would like to analyze what professions are most likely to be chosen by teenagers these days as well as to express my opinion on the matter.

The data presented in the table illustrates the latest opinion polls of respondents aged 13–18 about careers they would rather pursue. The figures clearly show that the most cherished profession among the teens who took part in the survey is a web and game developer, at over 41%. Quite unexpectedly, the job of a police officer and a teacher turned out to be the least popular on the list, at only around 3% and 1% respectively.

The opinion polls also revealed that three times as many school pupils, a third of the respondents, would rather become digital content developers than police officers, at 31% and 3% respectively. It is notable that the job of a software developer is roughly 10% less popular than the digital content developer.

One of the biggest problems which can arise with choosing a career is that school leavers tend to listen to unreliable advice much more often than turn for professional help. To avoid this problem teens should trust career counselors, first place.

A career counselor will offer them a psychometric test, outline their abilities and interests and guide them to the right career choice.

To conclude, I am convinced that the right career decision prevents job disappointment and ensures career success.
