One issue that has cause lots of controversy over the years is family. Some people are convinced that family is the most important thing in life and others believe that first you need to live for yourself and engage in self-development, because of this, they begin to climb to each other with moralizing and wih their advice, so conflicts arise. I believe that everyone has the right to decide for himself whether to live in a extende or nuclear family. I would like to express my opinion on this problem.

As far as I am concerned that an extended family is not bad. There is a great deal of truth in the fact that people who grew up in a large family in most cases are very kind, responsive and always ready to help. They are caring and think about the people around them.

It is also convenient from a financial point of view. In a extended family, relations between relatives are usualy very strong. I would like to support my point of view with on example of the family of Mary Teodoridis.

Mary Teodoridis, her hushand, their 6-year-old daughter Kate and her 69-year-old mother Elena live in a five-bedroom house in the north of London. First of all they “would never have afforded such a large house if we hadn’t decided to live as an extended family” - that’s what Mary said. Secondly, Kate now spends more time with grandmother and she likes it. Thirdly on weekends they have family meals. It is undeniable that the child can see other family members, not just parents. Unlike the nuclear family, where child spends most of his time at school or kindergarten.

One must admit that there are disadvantages May's husband, Alex, said that it’s not suitable for everyone to live like this, but they were lucky. Let us start by considering the facts. Taking into consideration all mentioned above, we can say that there are many advantages and disadvantages in extended family. So it's up you to decide whether to live in a large and friendly family or in small and comfortable one. All in all, I belive that for a long time people will live with extended families.
