In the modern world, with urban societies growing bigger each year, the importance of neighbors has also grown. In my opinion, an excellent neighbor is the one that is friendly, respectful and helpful. I am going to provide several reasons for my point of view.

First of all, if your neighbor is friendly, you will never feel lonely at any time a year. A friendly neighbor will not only say hello to you in the morning, such a person will also notice if you are too gloomy and will try to cheer you up somehow.

I think it may sound good for you to meet and talk with your neighbors about anything that you may want to in your free time. Just try not to be obsessive. It would not make you a good neighbor for them.

Secondly, if your neighbors are respectful, you will never have to cope with loud music at night and a lot of sounds at other times of the day. It is good to avoid such inconvenience and discomfort, don't you think so? A respectful neighbor can make you feel respect for her or him too.

Thirdly, I think that it is good to have a neighbor that can help you to cope with different situations. For example, if you do not know how to repair something that is broken, you do not need to go too far - just go to the nearest door and ask your neighbor to help you.

In conclusion I would like to say that, actually, nowadays neighbors are often the ones who are hard to notice if you do not meet with them face to face. We are too busy to become friends with them quite often, so, as far as I can imagine, the importance of a good neighbor has grown a lot in the passing years.
