40. Every city and every town should have a zoo ïðèìåð (Ñî÷èíåíèÿ ÅÃÝ àíãëèéñêèé ÿçûê)

Nowadays the popularity of zoos is rising. Some people say that all towns could have a zoo, while others are against of such an idea.

In my opinion, Zoos should not be in every settlement. Firstly, because it is not so cheap for city or town to have a zoo. Either it town administration or private owner, zoos are quite expensive to maintain, so there is no sense in them if they will not pay off and cause losses. Secondly, not every city or town has suitable climate. If you want your zoo to be interesting and diverse, you should have various animals, and not all of them can withstand environmental conditions that a settlement has, so this can lead to unpleasant consequences.

However, some people say that the more zoos there are, the better.

They say that zoos are the good source of entertainment and knowledge. In zoos you can not only look at the various animals, but learn about them a lot, also visiting a zoo with your family and friends Is really fun.

This statement is not quite right. Yes, these places are good sources of knowledge and joy, but they can’t be everywhere due to lack of a budget or weather conditions. As I have already said, either you will look at the exhausted animals or look at only those species which live nearby, and this is not really interesting.

In conclusion, I would like to restate that it is better to have a few, but well-funded, diverse than poor, small zoos.
