Flight in space is one of the most significant events in modern history. Some people claim that exploration of Space is the greatest breakthrough of the 20th century but others hold an opposite view.
In my opinion, there is nothing greater achievement in the previous century than universe exploration. Firstly, conducted space research let people know much more about the Universe and humanity was brought closer to answer to the question of origin of life on the Earth.
Secondly, space exploration promoted development of the television, which is an integral part of our everyday life now.
However, there are people who believe that breakthrough in Space cannot be judged like the greatest in the 20th century as it has caused some problems on the Earth. Space programs gained enormous financial support from the government, and because of this other important spheres like medicine did not gain enough money that negatively reflected on society’s health.
Personally, i disagree with above-mentioned opinion. Space research promoted development of science, led to progress in different industries included medicine. New high technologies which were invented in the process of space exploration was used in medical sphere as well. It increased level of efficiency of modern medicine and had a positive impact on health of modern people.
To sum up, although all opinions have the right to exist, I still believe that Space exploration is the greatest achievement of the 20th century.
