It is the government’s responsibility to protect the environment. The question of importance of saving nature is burning nowadays. Some people claim that the environmental protection is a government’s responsibility, while others hold an opposing point of view.
In my opinion, it is the governmental duty to safeguard the environment. Firstly, only governmental institutions have the right to make laws that prohibit neglectful behaviour of people as washing cars in lakes or walking the dog in parks.
Secondly, the government is the only power that has an impact on owners of works and factories and can make them to pay huge fines for industrial pollution of air, water and soil that can be caused by the wrong way of waste utilization.
However, there are people who claim that it is citizens’ responsibility to protect the environment. They are inclined to believe that an individual person should make a contribution to the nature protection by changing their habits. For instance, people may sort rubbish into separate bins that will help rubbish to be recycled and solve the problem of dumps.
Personally, I disagree with above-mentioned opinion. The individual initiative cannot change the situation with solving global problems of environmental protection. The Idea of separating rubbish will be successful if the government organises stations for separatable waste and introduces special laws that make people to sort their litter obligatorily, otherwise separatable rubbish might be send to а general dump.
To sum up, I would like to say that protection of the environment is governmental institutions’ responsibility.
I have no doubt about it because the government has all opportunities to cope with this task.
