40. Education polishes good nature and corrects bad ones (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)

A matter of considerable controversy at present is the issue of whether education and enlightenment can improve one’s personality and regulate mean features, or rather these changes depend on peculiarities of character. Strong arguments exist in support of both sides of this debate which implies that it is worth examing both points of view before reaching any conclusion.

Personally, I suppose education has a marvelous impact on the people’s nature. To begin with, it is often stated that from the individual viewpoint, education is one of the most sagacious ways of developing one’s personal qualities.

Curiosity, self-discipline, sense of responsibility are considered to be a profitable result of an educational process. Furthermore, this process not only develops human capacity and personality but also corrects bad nature. Acquiring knowledge might regulate one’s laziness, self-esteem and attitude that beneficial for every person in all scopes.

On the other hand, many people claim that education is not paramount in human nature expansion. It is believed that personal features are innate and cannot be influenced by education.

Nevertheless, I disagree with opposing opinion as human nature can be polished by chosen way of life. A versatile educated person can enhance a sense of what defines right and wrong.

On the whole, although there are those who would rank education as incapable of reaching any corrections on personality, the majority would disagree. I reckon that acquiring values and knowledge polishes good nature and corrects bad ones.
