Growth of cities and technological progress is harmful to the environment (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)Оценка эксперта внизу Nowadays the state of the environment bothers people the most. There are some of them who claim that both fast-growing cities and technological progress are two main causes of environmental deterioration. Although, not all of them may agree with it, as they have other thoughts on this matter. In my opinion, there is no doubt that all actions have consequences and I think that there are more harmful effects that lead to making damage to the environment. Firstly, the unconscious consumption of natural resources is one of them. For instance, the amount of soft water on our planet has its limit and if people had used the whole store of it, they will not be able to survive. Secondly, it should be noticed that endangered species of animals and other forms of life is another damaging factor to the environment. The circle of life on the Earth is one big mechanism, which will not be working without its crucial elements. However, there are others who hold the contrary viewpoint. Their main argument is that the rapid growth of cities leads to air and water pollution due to the fact of overpopulating. Moreover, people use technological progress, not for the enhancement of the conditions of the environment as for destructive actions. I cannot agree with my opponents, as I consider that more and more people are realizing the importance of an ecological lifestyle, using modern technologies in large cities, which I do not say about their attitude to the above-mentioned statements. In conclusion, it should be pointed that the environment is in high need of people’s attention. Therefore, saving our planet from harmful effects is vital.
