Exams motivate students to study harder, do not they? (Сочинения ЕГЭ английский язык)Оценка эксперта внизу Some people are saying that the assessment process known as an examination is a motivator for studying more industriously. Others, however, believe that tests are the primary cause of mental disorders and demotivation. As far as I am concerned, exams are efficient tools for the evaluation of students’ knowledge. First of all, regular tests and examinations of the material learned are the best way to find student’s problem areas. Second of all, exams imply a certain deadline by which the further examined material should be learnt and revisited, if necessary. Hence, the fact itself of having certain days to complete the preparation leads students to deliberate and conscientious everyday studies. Nevertheless, there are people asserting the opposite. They claim that examinations are designed to thoroughly stress learners since tests force them to manage a heavy study workload. Moreover, they think that for many people exams have a lot to do with demotivation and, as a consequence, procrastination. These arguments do not convince me whatsoever. I consider stress being a subjective factor of any examination which for everyone is different. Therefore, stress cannot be determined as a strictly negative facet of the process itself. esides, procrastination can be fought and demotivation is usually common for people, who cope with such mental health deteriorations as anxiety and depression, for instance. All in all, I would say that people should refuse the concept of exams being only hurtful and pointless. Otherwise, we would scarcely be able to progress in our learning.
