It would be no exaggeration to say that students study many interesting and important subjects at school. Some people consider that History cannot be the most significant among other school subject. Others do not think so.
In my opinion, History is the most important subject and there are some reasons for it. Firstly, it preserves the heritage and culture of the country. A person cannot be a real patriot if he or she does not know their country’s past and the heroes which have contributed immensely to the future.
Secondly, studying history, memorizing dates and viewing ancient maps, improve brain function of students. Regardless of person’s abilities the study of History develops memory and imagination.
However, some people do not agree with this point of view. They claim that History is not the most important subject because some events and facts can be inaccurate due to the fact that they happened a long time ago.
Nevertheless, this argument does not appear relevant and compelling enough. There is a common word history drawn from numerous historical documents and books which confirm these events and facts. Millions of years historians worked on the truth of historical facts.
In conclusion,I would like to say that history is of great importance to humanity and is the most essential subject. History has a positive effect on pupils’ brain and promotes patriotic education.
